2022 Marine Corps Marathon
150 Operators Needed!
Help make a difference
Amateur radio operators are needed for the Marine Corps Marathon on October 30, 2022, in Washington, DC and Arlington, Virginia. The call is for 150 amateur radio operators to provide communication and “eyes on the course” for a Medical Data Network to function as an Amateur Radio Emergency Data Network (AREDN). The network will use the 144 and 420 MHz bands, FM, and Digital Smart Technologies for Amateur Radio (D-STAR). Amateur Radio will also be used as back-up communications in the event of a communications failure. Operators should be prepared with supplies and equipment and ready to function in a large scale, multi-jurisdictional, mass casualty-type event under real conditions. Training will be provided, and each operator will receive a T-shirt. For amateurs to sign up, the link is https://www.mcmham.org. To learn more about the 2022 Marine Corps Marathon, visit their website at Marine Corps Marathon.
